Volunteers are a critical part of Dayton Area Families for Effective Autism Treatment.(DAFEAT), and we are always looking for skilled individuals to assist us with our mission. Volunteers assist with support groups, fundraisers, educational activities and much more.

DAFEAT volunteers are true heroes. One of the most important gifts that you can give to someone is your time, and we appreciate the generosity of so many people who make DAFEAT the dynamic organization it is today.

Would you like us to contact you about current volunteer opportunities? If so, fill out an interest form below.

Why Donate

Dayton Area Families for Effective Autism Treatment (DAFEAT), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been a strong supporter of the Miami Valley Autism Community since 2005. DAFEAT was created by parents who saw a lack of support for families facing an autism diagnosis in the Miami Valley and they are determined to fill the void.

Our organization’s success depends entirely on the generosity of people like you. Only through donations can we succeed in our mission to provide education, advocacy and support to the Miami Valley Autism Community.

Your donation will allow us to continue these successful programs:

  • New Parent Packets: Help parents sort through the confusing and emotionally draining task of understanding and dealing with an autism diagnosis.
  • Informational Workshops: Provide information and support related to different treatments/teaching opportunities for kids with ASD, including Applied Behavior Analysis, Verbal Behavior, Dietary Interventions, Dietary Interventions, Sensory Integration, Potty Training, Dealing with Problem Behaviors, etc.
  • Training Workshops: Offer in-depth training to therapists, parents and other professionals who work with our kids.
  • Parent-School Connection: Free training to school districts, focusing on helping teachers and aides better understand autism and how our kids learn.
  • Nationally Known Speakers: Present educational opportunities for parents/professionals to learn about topics that affect our kids.
  • Social Events: Make financial support available to organizations that offer opportunities for our kids to meet and enjoy social situations.
  • State of the art Web Site and regional listserv: Maintained by DAFEAT, these electronic mediums support our community by providing easy ways to communicate and share ideas and information.
